We have officially kicked off our Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) pilot in Apac District!
After months of preparation, training, and planning, the real magic began in classrooms this September 2024 as the new school term opened. With boxes of freshly printed learning materials in hand and hearts full of excitement, our team rolled out TaRL activities in 4 partner schools.
Each school received a full set of learner-friendly, activity-based materials designed to make reading and math fun again. From letter flash cards to play money, teachers were ready to deliver lessons that met learners at their true level

Before diving into the TaRL lessons, we carried out baseline assessments to find out where each learner stood in reading and numeracy. This helped teachers group students by ability and not by assumption. What we found reminded us why we do this work: many learners were behind, but not beyond help.
Armed with their training and mentor support, the teachers jumped in confidently. The classrooms were buzzing with songs, claps, counting games, and “aha!” moments.
It’s just the beginning, but the energy is real. We’re excited for the months ahead.
