Growing TaRL in the Community
After the successful completion of our TaRL pilot, we’re not slowing down —...
Aloha Foundation Uganda is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming education for children in underserved communities of Northern Uganda. We believe that every child has the right to quality learning, regardless of where they come from. Our work is grounded in community, equity, and a deep belief in the potential of every learner.
Our mission is to empower children and youth through quality education, skills development, and community-driven learning to drive socio-economic inclusivity in Uganda
A world where all children receive a high-quality education in well-resourced schools with skilled and dedicated teachers, ensuring personalized learning that fosters literacy, numeracy, and innovation, leading to empowered individuals, economic growth, and a prosperous future for all.
Collin Achola (RIP) was more than a dreamer. She was a doer. Born and raised in Northern Uganda, she knew firsthand the challenges her community faced: poverty, displacement, and limited access to quality education. But instead of walking away, she chose to give back. With unwavering determination, she built a small primary school, a safe space where children could learn, dream, and grow.
Children who once had no access to education were suddenly reading, writing, and believing in their future, all because one woman chose to act.
When Collin passed away, we knew her dream couldn’t end there. Her legacy had lit a fire in our hearts
In 2023, with the support of D-Prize, we founded Aloha Foundation Uganda to carry her mission forward. We didn’t just want to preserve what she built, we wanted to expand it.
Today, we continue her journey by working in underserved communities in Northern Uganda to transform education through the Play & Learn Initiative (PaLI), combining foundational learning, play-based engagement, and life skills development to reach the children most at risk of being left behind.
We do this in her memory, for our community, and for every child whose dreams deserve a chance.
We collaborate with local education authorities to select underserved schools where the need for improved learning outcomes is greatest.
We provide comprehensive training and resources to equip teachers with effective, learner-centered teaching methods.
We introduce evidence-based programs incorporating play in their methodolog, like Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) that focus on meeting children at their current learning level.
We work closely with parents, school leaders, and communities to build a supportive environment for children’s education
